Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award (June 2012)
The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC), a national organization of affordable housing developers, owners, and agencies, selected Apache ASL Trails of Tempe, AZ as the 2012 Charles L. Edson Award winner in the Special Needs Housing category. President Erich Schwenker of Cardinal Capital Management and Board Chairman Thomas Posedly of Arizona Deaf Senior Citizens Coalition traveled to Washington, D.C. on June 21 to receive the honor at the Awards Luncheon at the U.S. Capitol. Director Mike Trailor, of the Arizona Department of Housing spoke movingly of the importance of this kind of supportive housing, to combat the isolation of deafness. The residents of Apache ASL Trails are honored by this recognition of their home.
